Hello! And welcome back to another, wonderful crafty day here on the Ink Road. I’m here today to show you a ridiculously easy card, featuring the Art Supplies background stamp, and some super simple, single layer coloring. Nothing fancy here, folks! Just a fun, relaxing card today. One stamp, two dies, and a bunch of markers… .That should have been my title. Before I jump in, if you haven’t already, join the conversation over on Facebook. There’s loads of inspiration, and a lot of fun going on over there.
So, I started this Art Supplies Background card with a rough idea and very little inspiration. I wanted to get really crazy with it, and pull in a bunch of other stamps. BUT, when I had about 7 stamp sets in front of me, I hit a wall, and decided to put them all away. LOL It’s been a stressful week for me, and I was in need of just some good ol’, old school, “nuthin’ fancy” coloring. So I did exactly that, and it. felt. goooood. It was nice! No pressure, no crazy combos, just pick a color and go with it.
I stamped the Art Supplies Background with Copic- friendly ink. I had do stamp it a few times to get a good impression. Then, I trimmed the sides down a little bit further, but kept the length (5.5″). Then, I just colored my heart away. Finally, when I was finished, I set that aside, picked some fun, pink-red patterned paper– nothing too busy– and some solid card stock to match. I cut strips of each, and glued the patterned paper first, my colored panel, then the red strips.
For the sentiment, I grabbed two dies from the now-retired Bella Flora dies, and die cut some gold foil I had in my stash. In order for the sentiment to stand out a little, I lightly ink blended some black ink to my panel where I knew the sentiment would land.
TA DA! All finished, and super cute, to boot!
