Paper piecing and chill with Marcie

April 21, 2020

This is what we’re all doing, right? Netflix and chill? Amazon Prime and chill? Hulu and chill? Old VHS tapes and chill? Whatever gets you through this!

I’m hoping you all have a comfy couch and some sort of entertainment to help you through the next few weeks- stay safe and wash your hands! I’m watching all the new, fun stuff on Netflix plus some kid friendly content on Disney+ with my little ones AND I’m creating too! Cardmaking is the PERFECT hobby for a time of isolating. I KNEW all this stuff would come in handy. TAKE THAT husband.

Paper piecing is a fun technique for stamped images. It’s super simple if you don’t mind some fussy cutting (which frankly I find relaxing) and a little time. For my card today I stamped the couch image repeatedly on the white cardstock panel that I cut slightly smaller than A2 size. Then I stamped the image again on different pieces of designer paper and cut them all out. You could skip the step of stamping them first on the panel but I like to do that as a visual for how my scene or pattern is going to work out. FYI- this couch is from The One With All The Stamps but there is also a couch in Bazinga! The sentiment comes from Modern Romance. Don’t forget to take a deep look at your Ink Road sets…you never know where you will find the PERFECT sentiment to finish off your project. The panel was adhered using foam tape to a white A2 card base.

How many images can you find in the Ink Road store that would be perfect for paper piecing? Check out this recent card by Samantha that also uses paper piecing! I just love it. Don’t forget that you can use the code MARCIE10 in the Ink Road store anytime for 10% off your purchase. Have a great day!
