Pride & Prejudice Book Card

August 5, 2020

Hello Roadies! Lorena here, back on the blog with a new project using some of the new stamps featuring Jane Austen quotes. I’m a big Pride & Prejudice fan so I was super excited when these new sets came out. I used Dayse Heart and Dayse Letter for today’s project.

I have about 4 copies of Pride & Prejudice, (It’s a favorite!) and one of my copies was attacked by my dog Lauren so I decided to retire it and use the pages for crafting. Lauren was kind enough to help me get a head start on distressing the pages. (Some had holes from bite marks, lol.) I tore one of the pages out and then ripped the edges using my magnetic ruler and mat to get a straight(ish) line. I did this to each side of the page.

Next I crumpled up the page to make it a little distressed and make it look old. I added some ink blending to the edges and some to the center to highlight the wrinkles Lauren and I created.

I matted the book page onto some dusty blue colored cardstock cut to 4″x 5.25″. I made sure the page was completely dry from all the ink blending and then prepped the page using anti static powder. I stamped the floral heart from the Dayse Heart set using clear embossing ink then sprinkled over some fine detail gold embossing powder.

I stamped one of the quotes included in the Dayse Heart set onto the same dusty blue cardstock using black ink. I decided to adhere this flat onto my card base.

To finish off the card I matted my card base onto a white A2 sized card. I added some light pink IR pearls for a little bit of embellishment.

I used the same ink blending technique to make a matching envelope. I stamped the hand and pen from Dayse Letter on the front of the envelope. I also stamped the entire image on the back of the envelope. Hope ya’ll like today’s project. This is something completely different for me but I really love the way it turned out.
