I adore the Adulting Gold Stars set. I mean, who wouldn’t want a gold star for getting out of bed or washing their hair these days?! Some days I wouldn’t earn many, that’s for sure. Just ask my kids. 😂 It’s so fun but I wanted to use just the stars in a different way for my creation today. For us in Ontario, Canada the school year (modified school year like many other places around the world) has just finished and I need some teacher thank you cards. I always seem to leave them until the last minute- how about you? This card calls to mind primary colours and those kid craft projects of melted crayons.
On a piece of watercolour cardstock, I stamped a line of stars using the solid star image and Distress Inks in rainbow order. I spritzed them with water and tilted the cardstock so the water would drip down the panel. Once dry, I stamped the outline of the star in black Versafine ink over top. Using the Block Party Alpha Outline stamps I made a “thank you” sentiment and stamped in black ink. The panel was trimmed slightly and adhered to a black A2 card base.
That works for an elementary school teacher, right? You could mass produce a bunch of these easily! Change up the colours and make it monochromatic or ombre for something less kindergarten-ish.
Did you know there are Adulting Gold Star stickers in the shop too? Amanda made a fantastic bullet journal page using them! You can use the code MARCIE10 for 10% off your purchase at the Ink Road Store. Have a great day!
