Home Design TeamCards Roadie at Heart

Newbie Alert.

Hola! It’s Magy from MagyMakes. First time posting here on the IRS blog and I’m so excited to be a part of the best in the biz. Today, I’d like to share with you a cute and simple card I hope you could relate to.

Roadie at Heart: Sweet and Sassy, a bit Smart Assy

When asked to create an intro card, I instantly thought of Lucy. She’s one of my favorites. She’s sweet, caring, thoughtful, always sending off Happy Mail to make someone’s day. However, when you get to know her, deep down she’s sassy and snarky but in a light humorous way. After all, she’s a Roadie not a Rudey.

I started by coloring up an image of Lucy sending mail from the Lucy-Happy Mail set with alcohol markers. Filled the box in with pink and stamped “Roadie” using the Angel Policy Essentials set. Fussy cut her and a pair of red hearts out, added some shimmer with a glitter brush and set them aside.

After cutting a white card stock panel at 4 x 5 1/4, and using the lightest grey ink on hand, I stamped things Lucy would say, think or express after getting to know her. Things from The One With All the Stamps, The One With All the Stamps Vol 2 (her favorite show duh), Belated, Snail Mail, FCK-A-DOODLE-DO, Good Heart Bad Mouth, Golden Friends and Roadies Vol 3. Each lined up and stamped one at a time (time consuming but time well spent). Finished that up with some ink blending around the edges.

I then adhered it onto a black A2 card base and trimmed some light pink vellum at 3 1/2 x 5 for the center. After perching Lucy on some foam tape, I added some White Double Scooped Sequins (retired) and hid glue behind each one to stick my vellum down.

Roadie Mail

There she is! Typical Roadie, sweet, sassy and a bit smart assy. I hope you love her just as much as I do.

XoXo,

Magaly
