I created this card using Shell Yeah stamp set with a gel print background!
Let’s start with the background. I used my gel press plate with acrylic paint to create some textured layers. For the circles I pressed small bubble wrap with paint onto the print. I used ink with a blending tool to create a soft blended border.
The focal image is a mermaid from Shell Yeah stamped with versafine onyx black ink and clear heat embossed on bristol smooth paper. The sentiment, from the same stamp set, is also heat embossed.
I colored the mermaid using Arteza real brush pens, not worrying about blending the colors because it is such a small image. The sentiment is adhered on top of the rectangle die cut. I added craft foam to the back for dimension.
I heat embossed the edges of the card with the same embossing powder as the star fish, then assembled all of the elements.
To complete the card I added clear bubble gems as a finishing touch.
On the inside I used the scraps of my gel printed background to create a border on the bottom of the card. I cut the wave by hand. I stamped two more of the mermaids from Shell Yeah in black ink on the corners.
Thanks for coming over to the blog to see how I created this card. It reminds me that warmer days are ahead!
