This year I have been really enjoying stretching my year round stamps to create seasonal cards, and this is another example of that! Here I used Bun Intended to create an icy hairdo for my favorite girl stamp! I used the first edition of Bun Intended, but there is a whole line of these beauties…Bun Intended 2, Bun Intended 3, and Bun Intended 4.
I started this card by making my snowy girl. First I stamped the image with a light no line coloring ink onto white cardstock., making sure to leave the stamp in my stamp positioner. (pic. 1) Next I colored the hair using cool grey Copic markers. (pic. 2) Then I painted a thin layer of silver metallic watercolor over the top. I used 906 white gold from Gansai Tambi Starry Colors metallic watercolor set. (pic. 3)
As a last step for the snowy bun I put the colored image back in my stamp positioner and stamped with Versafine onyx black ink then clear heat embossed. I added a cute little blue bow to the bottom of her bun from Shelley Bows. This is exactly how I do my hair! I tried to capture the shimmer of her hair on camera, but it is so much prettier in real life.
For the sentiment of this card I also stretched my year round supplies! I used just the word hello from the Hello Gorgeous die set, cutting it multiple times and stacking them for dimension. Underneath it I cut a navy blue banner and used my white gel pen and hand wrote Winter to complete the sentiment.
I adhered the sentiments to the rectangle with my snowy bun girl, then popped it up onto a piece of craft foam. I adhered these to a background of home made patterned paper that I also splattered with the same metallic paint I used on her hair.
I hope you are all having a lovely season so far and are enjoying all of the crafty inspiration that comes out this time of year!
