Hello friends! It’s Angela back with my first card made for day 2 of the Sparkly Inks Card Drive created by The Ink Road and Spiegelmom Scrap and that will last for the whole month of October. You are all invited to join us creating cards to send to elderly living in nursing homes. You can find more info and details here, on kickoff day post.
Here is the sketch of day 2, the one my card is inspired by.
As you can see I changed a few things, first the orientation, not an horizontal but a vertical card. I started playing with watercolors to paint a rainbow background on a piece of watercolor paper of 4 inches by 5 3/4 inches. Then I grabbed the adorable stamp set #beautifulmess and I printed the the sentiment Listen To Your Heart on vellum with Versamark ink.
I heat embossed the sentiment with various powders of the same colors I used for the background, Then I fussy cut them and adhered on a piece of white cardstock of the same size.
I replaced the central stipe with a thick silver twine and I tied it around the card, making two holes on top and bottom of it.
The main sentiment of the card is the heart with the banner, always form the same stamp set #beautifulmess. I placed it in the center of the card and it also hide the knot of the twine.
Beside the twine are the little colorful banners aligned on the right and all around as finishing touch, I added a few Flat Back Bubbles and voilà, the card is done!
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope my card inspired you creating your own style of Sparkly Inks card and to have you on this month journey. Stay tuned for more inspirations next days from the team!
