Hello everyone!
It’s Angela back on the blog with a brand new project to share, featuring Subway Art Love stamp. The stamp is amazing and I love every stamp of the Subway Art serie. I was so inspired by the stamp and its name that I decided to make some kind of subway art, an abstract canvas!

To create the canvas I get really messy and I had so much fun. I first prepped it with white gesso. Then, I started playing with colors and pastes. I used stencil paste, black gesso, acrylic paint, metallic paint and mica powders. I literally spread layers and layers of colors on the canvas, following my instinct and without overthinking.

I applied the colors mainly using a palette knife but also with my fingers and this is pretty unusual for me.

The color combo of the canvas was intentional. I wanted a lot of pink shades and gold because I knew I would have used the phrase I Want The Fairytale on it. Pink and gold perfectly match with a fairytale theme, don’t you agree?
I stamped the phrase on a strip of vellum long enough to be wrapped around the canvas. To make it stand out, I used black embossing powder.

The phrase is just one of many of the stamp. To stamp the phrase separately from the rest, I covered the area around the phrase with washi tape, I inked up and then, I removed the washi before stamping. Very simple and easy.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. I really hope you liked my project and feel inspired to crate with us and the fun Ink Road stamps that you can purchase at 10% off using discount code ANGELA10.
Love, NG
