Happy Tuesday my crafty friends! Today I’m going to share a travelers notebook spread using multiple Ink Road stamp sets. I love the versatility of these stamps and mixing them together.
First, I prepped my travelers notebook spread with gesso. I knew I was going to stamp and possibly be using mixed media on the page, so I wanted to make sure it was prepared for whatever creativity or direction I went.
As that dried, I stamped circles from the Full Circle stamp set. I stamped them in a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Ink colors in blues, yellows, and reds.
Next I cut out all the circles using a circle die that measured at 1.25″. Like I’ve said before, I’m not one to fussy cut and this instance was a time I needed a die to help me along.
Moving onto the travelers notebook spread, I stamped the wave looking design from the Between the Lines stamp set, using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers.
On the opposing page I adhered a piece of Fancy Pants Designs: Poolside Collection paper (Pooling Around) from the Clique Kits July 2018 main kit.
Next, I wanted to add a little interactive element to the page. I cut a piece of vellum to 4″ wide x 8.25″ high. Using a edge punch, I punched a scallop edge to mimic the waves feeling. On the front of the vellum, I used the Block Party Alpha Outline stamp set. I stamped this in black ink and clear heat embossed the word “summer” in a stacked formation. I attached the vellum into the album using a blue wavy washi tape on both sides of the vellum.
On the opposing page, I added a photo of my nephew I recently took at our lake home. I layered pieces of pattern paper from the Clique Kits July 2018 Main kit and the circles I previously cut out from the Ink Road Full Circle stamp set. In addition, I cut two of the circles in half and placed them above and below the stamped “summer” title on the vellum page.
On the wave page, I added more circles, cutting some in half. I also stamped a few some phrases from Full Circle stamp set and the Ink Road Stamps May Inked subscription stamp – Jenn.
And that finishes off the travelers notebook spread. I love how playful this turned out and the versatility and variety of ways you can use each of the stamp sets.
Try looking at your stamps in a new light. How can you use them in a new unique way? Thanks for joining me today. #createfreely
