Erica here with a S-U-P-E-R fast card today. Minus drying time for the embellishment mousse, this is done in less than 5 mins. You might want to get strapped in for this because it’s gonna go at breakneck speed! Ready? Are you sure? Ok, let’s go!!
Step 1: Drink a strong shot of espresso. Wait… what? This step is crucial to me as hello? Coffee addict, lol!
Step 2: Cut out a card base out of black card stock. I have used Black Velvet from Tonic Studios. It’s a fab matte black mirror card stock, I love that stuff!
Step 3: Pick out your colour/colours of embellishment mousse and prep it/them a little by mashing it up with your palette knife or other tool. It’s easier to work with when it’s softer. Or at least that’s what I think.
Step 4: Spread it quite generously onto your card panel, it does need to be somewhat thick. I didn’t smooth it out very much either and dabbed my palette knife lightly all over it, as I wanted lots of texture.
Step 5: Cut out the ‘hello’ and ‘lovely’ word dies from the Bella Floral diecut set. I used the same black card stock, the Black Velvet, as the panel is to have that awesome contrast.
Step 6: Press the word dies into the embellishment mousse directly (hence the reason it needs to be quite thick)
Step 7: Step away from the project and don’t touch until completely dry!
Phew… Just because a card is simple in design or quick to make doesn’t automatically make it boring, now does it? I think this came out so great and I’m now eyeing up the entire line of embellishment mousses to try different colour combos. If you don’t want to buy lots of individual colours, you can also stain white texture paste with ink. That way you will always have the colour you want AND it’s extra playing time in the craft room. That’s a big WIN-WIN in my book!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this post and will give it a try yourself. Don’t forget to hashtag your Ink Road makes with #inkroadies or #inkroadstamps so Lara and us gals on the design team can see what you make!
See you next month! Lots of love from Erica
