Hello friends! It’s Kira and I am so happy to be staying on the Ink Road Stamps design team for another term and to be providing you with even more inspiration in the coming year! I already have so many ideas for the new stamp sets and can’t wait to share them with you. But until my new stamps arrive, I’ll be sharing some layouts using stamps from the past releases.
My husband and I recently took our kids on their first beach trip. It was so much fun (even though beach days with kids are A LOT of work!) and I got a ton of great pictures of my boys. I love this on of my son sitting on this wood bridge looking out onto the beach. (If you follow me on social media, I guarantee this won’t be the last time this photo gets scrapbooked!) I recently switched to 8.5×11 format scrapbook layouts and have been enjoying the smaller size.
To create the background of this layout, I started with the Full Circle stamp set. There are so many diverse ways to use this set, and today I decided to make some ice cream cones! I chose a nice, bright summer color palette for my inks. Then softly with pencil drew straight lines up my page where I would roughly stamp my ice cream “scoops”. I didn’t go in a specific order with the colors, I just tried to make sure the same color wasn’t touching or directly next to each other. I love the effect overlapping the ice cream created!
For the cones, I drew a simple triangle with pencil. Then using a copic marker, colored in the triangle. I went over the outline with a black pen, and added some texture by drawing crisscrossed lines with the same pen.
I used the Block Party Alpha for my title, using similar colors as the ice cream scoops. Then used a tan ink and the Block Party Outline to go over the title. And then to add some extra texture to the entire page, I stitched around the ice cream in coordinating embroidery thread. I kept the embellishing simple and called it done!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
