Thanksgiving Pumpkin

November 22, 2020

I am in love with the new Basics: Pumpkin stamp and die set, so I used both the stamp and die combo to create this card for Thanksgiving.

I started by creating a unique size card base measuring 3.5″ tall by 6.5″ long. I ink blended maroon onto the edges, then repeatedly stamped the pumpkin in light tan ink.

For the main pumpkin, I wanted to be able to easily color it without paper piecing. I made an impression using the detailed die from Basics: Pumpkin an embossing mat in my die cut machine.

Using the outline of the embossed die, I quickly colored in the shapes. You do not have to worry about shading or coloring neatly because the outline will be covered with a die cut.

I die cut the outline die twice from cardstock and stacked them together. I heat embossed the die cut multiple times with gold heat embossing powder for a smooth dimensional look.

Here are the pieces combined with a vellum shadow behind, all ready to be the focal point on my card.

I don’t have a thanksgiving sentiment, so I had to get creative for this one. Happy is from the Happy Birthday sentiment in INKED. Girl Lani, and Thanksgiving is spelled out using letters from lightbox alphas.

I combined all the elements together, gluing the sentiment banners coming out from the pumpkin. I added gold sequins for a bit of added sparkle.

To finish off the inside of the card I added a tan pumpkin die cut along with two strips of washi.

Thanks for coming to the blog today! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate, or a great week if not! If you are interested in any of these products, or anything else at Ink Road, you can use BECCA10 for 10% off.
