Modern Romance is one of my favorite stamp sets but that little envelope stamp has always baffled me. I could never come up with reason to use it since I’m mainly a scrapbooker and not a card maker, but I was determined to use it somehow.
I just stamped a bunch of those envelopes on white cardstock using some black archival ink and then fussy cut them out. Once I started placing them on my background paper, I love how they mimicked a brick wall!! I also realized that the envelope seemed like a love letter of sorts.
So this layout became a love letter to my nephew. That is his cute little face in that photo!!! I adore that kid and feel as if he is one of my own children. I love the thought of leaving these scrapbook layouts of him as love letters from his auntie…and the Days_e Phrases set has the perfect sentiments to express that love.
I positioned my ‘brick wall’ envelopes so that the sentiments from the Days_e Phrases set would nestle in perfectly. I finished embellishing using lots of goodies from the Vicki Boutin Wildflowers and Honey collection and a scattering of acrylic hearts to emphasize the love theme.
I love how this layout turned out and I’m glad that I was finally able to use that adorable envelope stamp!!
