Unicorns: Black and White or Colorful?

September 17, 2019

Hey Roadies! Angela here with another ‘Black&White or Colorful?’ card series!

Today I’m featuring the gorgeous stamp set design by our talented DT member Samantha Klaebe. A while ago, she made an amazing card using the Majestic AF stamp to create this fun background. It was a long work of stamp masking technique and you can see the beautiful result in her post here. Lara the boss turned it into a stamp: the Majestic AF Background  and I used this for my today card.

In the first card I used black cardstock for the base. I stamped the background of unicorns with Versamark Ink and than heat embossed it with white embossing powder. It was already perfect as it was but I decided to add a touch of gold. With a fine brush, gold watercolors and a lot of patience, I colored all the little the horns of the background.

The sentiment of the card is from Love Wins stamp set and I think it was perfect for the theme of my card.

I added this little handmade die-cut to highlight diversity. The ‘different’ here is the black horse in an herd of unicorns.

The horse is from another fun stamp called Snarks & Recreation  . I fussy cut it with scissors but it’s available a cut file for this stamp set, too. Last I added a bit of sparkle using a few Shikira Gold gems here and there.

The second and colorful card is the opposite of the first. I stamped the background on white cardstock and heat embossed it with black powder. As before, I colored the hornes with gold watercolors and also the manes of the unicorns. I used my Copic markers in a pastel color combo but, I tell you what, next time I’d rather use more intense colors for a better result.

To embellish the card, I added a few Deluxe Catherine Purple gems and three Shelly Bows on three of the unicorns just for fun.

Again, the sentiment is from Love Wins stamp, heat embossed with white powder on black cardstock.

And voilà the two cards. one beside the other. Which one do you prefer?

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the cards and feel inspired to create with the fun and unique Ink Road Stamps.

Love,

Angela
