Using a Single Stamp as a Focus Point

August 20, 2019

Hi everyone!  Daisie here with a fun layout using one of the versatile and amazing stamps from the Love Wins stamp set.  I chose the heart stamp because it is easy to incorporate into any subject matter.  I used it to document one of my all time favorite photos of my youngest daughter.

To start, I chose a pattern paper that had stripes of rainbow colors.  These stripes were wide enough to allow the entire stamp to fit in each color.  I repeat stamped the heart 4 times on each color using my Archival black ink.  Then I fussy cut each heart out leaving a small border around the edge of the stamp.

Next, I used my sewing machine to create some messy lines in white thread across the center of the background.  I chose to use black cardstock because it really makes the hearts pop off the page.   The hearts are popped up on some craft foam and adhered in rows of matching colors.

Finally, I added my photo.  I used some silver glitter paper to back the photo to help it stand out from the colorful background.  For the title I used some alphas from my stash.  I finished the layout off with some white paint splatters and white gel pen outline around the page.

This is just one way to make a simple shape really shine.  It’s a quick and easy way to really show off your photo.  By simply changing the paper you use to stamp on or what background you use, you can easily customize this layout for any picture.  Don’t forget to use my code DAISIE10 for 10% off your next purchase in the shop!
