Using Phrase Stamps in a Unique Way with Kira

November 23, 2018

Hey everyone!  It’s Kira and I am back with another travelers notebook layout today.  I have been looking back at previous layouts this month for inspiration in my travelers notebook and am having so much fun coming up with different ways to use Ink Road Stamps sets!

I started this layout with this photo of my boys on their new trampoline.  My mother in law mailed this to our oldest son for his fourth birthday…literally two days after warning us to make sure the boys are careful jumping off the couch.  Really?  Careful on the couch, but then send us a trampoline.  Ooof, I digress.

I knew I had to document this story, so I started by flipping through my stamp sets, when I happened upon the Stars Hollow set.  There is a phrase in the set that says “You jump, I jump”, which is clearly perfect for a layout about a trampoline, am I right???

Phrase stamps are a difficult thing for myself, as a scrapbooker, to use.  So I am always trying to come up with creative ways to get the most use out of them.  One of my favorite techniques is to repeat stamp the phrase on some die cut letters.  Which is exactly what I did here, using three shades of blue to create an ombre effect.

Once I had my words stamped, I wanted to bring in the red from my son’s shirt over to the right page.  So I did what I do best and hand stitched around the letters.  Then it was just a matter of embellishing and journaling!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

xo, Kira
