Only 4 days until Valentines Day! Some think it is purely a commercial holiday, but I take it as a chance to give extra handmade love to my boyfriend, family, and friends.
I die cut a heart out of the center, as well as on the front of my card base. This will create a window to the inside.
For the window I die cut a heart frame and a pink flower from Basics: Flower 1.
I wanted to make sure the flower stood out against the busy background, so I stacked multiple dies on top of eachother and clear heat embossed on top for shine.
I assembled the card, placing the flower over the window and gluing it along the edges so it is suspended.
On the inside of the card I glued another flower die cut to make sure it stayed adhered to the window.
To complete the outside of the card I made a Happy Valentines Day sentiment strip using this stamp from Modern Romance, and added a light grey border.
For the inside I lined up a grey heart to the window so it would have a nice background and I would know where to avoid writing. I lined up the XOXO sentiment, also from Modern Romance, behind the front greeting so it is a surprise when opening the card. I stamped a few of the same hearts from Basics: Heart Clusters to bring some pink to the inside.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and make Valentines Day into what you want it to be!
