It’s Simone here with you all to share a fun Valentine’s Day card I created using the awesome heart from the Beautiful Mess stamp set.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner I thought I would think outside of the box with some of my stamp sets and create a card using masking so I could get just the part of the image stamped that I wanted.
To create the card above I started by creating a mask for the stamp so that the words ‘create in…’ wouldn’t appear on my heart. To do this I stamped the image onto some scratch paper before cutting out the section of the heart that I wanted to mask off. I then put the mask piece down onto the patterned paper I chose to use for my heart, before inking up the stamp and stamping it down on top. After removing the mask the patterned paper heart had just the love sentiment on it that I wanted.
I then stamped the image again onto some different pattered paper so I could cut out the love banner and glue it to the top of the heart, creating a paper pieced heart for my card. I then stuck the heart down onto my card base using adhesive foam, before stamping the little ‘you’ sentiment onto the card base. The ‘you’ sentiment I used was from the Majestic AF stamp set (I just carefully cut the part of the sentiment I needed).
To finish of this sweet little Valentine’s card, I then embellished the card with some enamel dots, matching the colours of the patterned paper.
I almost forgot how much fun masking was as it’s been quite a while since I last used this technique, but I have to say I will definitely putting it to use again very soon!
I hope this has inspired you to create some beautiful Valentine messes?!
