These cards started out with lots of strips of cardstock. I picked these colors because they reminded me of the colors sticks of gum come in! I adhered them to an a2 sized piece of thin printer paper using strong double sided tape.
Next I trimmed the edges and die cut a rectangle out of the center. This is where our two cards will come from.
On both cards I repeatedly stamped “what the fork” from Lint Licker. For the card on the left I stamped onto white cardstock using black ink. On the right I stamped over each of the strips of colored paper using a light grey ink for a more subtle look.
For the focal points of these cards I silver heat embossed the fork stamp from Spork. I heat embossed multiple times to create a raised smooth image. The colored one will go on the white background, and the white one will go on the colored background.
To complete my first card I layered the focal image onto the background, then added a sentiment strip white heat embossed on black.
To complete my second card I layered the focal image onto a thin black matt, then on top of the colorful background. I added a sentiment strip stamped in black ink onto a strip of leftover paper from the background.
For the inside of both cards I made another striped background panel the same way, then adhered it to the bottom of the card with a thin black border.
I hope you enjoyed these sassy cards! Remember, you can use this die cutting technique to make the most of any background you fall in love with!
