I love to attend craft shows, maker shows (like this weekend’s Maker Faire in Kansas City!) and I tend to keep the pretty little bits I get along the way (like a magpie, if it’s sparkly, I want it). I either buy a ton of pretty little bits, and/or grab a cool business card I see.
Any time I travel, the FIRST thing I look up for the trip are stationery stores and small businesses where cute things can be found. Up until last week, these were in a box in my closet. As I was working on my 100 Day Project (I chose 100 3×4 Project Life cards because that’s my favorite format to scrapbook), it hit me! Why not scrap these pretty little bits?! In case you’re curious here’s what I’ve scrapped:
Top row, L-R:
- Greenwich Letterpress enamel pin backing + a leather tag from a pair of Anthropologie earrings
- Sugar Maple Paper Co business card/coaster that I couldn’t bear to actually use
- Stand Tall Amongst Giants clothing tag
- One of my favorite beer flavors, the label right off the bottle: Leinenkugel’s Watermelon Shandy
- & 6. Pins from Oh Leander
Second row, L-R:
- YAS YAS YAS card by Farewell Paperie
- Katie Abbey’s business card
- Tokidoki cactus dog keychain (I don’t like his real name so I just call him cactus dog…)
- Not a Hugger enamel pin backing by Wit & Whistle
- “Leather” fringe heart from a greeting card in the Target Dollar Spot (holla!)
- Ted Baker holiday tag from something I don’t even recall … clearly the item was not as important as the pretty tag
Third row, L-R:
- Pins from Golden Gems
- More pins from Golden Gems
- A cut down PL card from a pad I really liked but I HATE ROUNDED CORNERS! Thankfully this design lent well to cutting down. (Petition Project Life to start making SQUARE CORNER cards?!)
- Pin backing from an exclusive enamel pin designed by Emily Coxhead for the now sadly defunct Lucky Dip Club
- Cry now cry later iron on patch by Sara M Lyons (he’s a member of my sad ghost club, SGC being what I call my depression hehhh!)
- Tokidoki Donutella keychain
Fourth row, L-R:
- Bon Lux candle packaging
- Cry, Baby Cry poem from a zine by Caitie Metz
- Tag from Foie De Joie – STORY TIME: I got this perfume as a sample in Birch Box two years ago. I milked that sample until there was nothing left, because the full size bottle was $100! Fast forward a few years and I had some extra Christmas money and decided to buy the bottle of MY FAVORITE PERFUME EVER OF ALL TIME IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE. When it arrived I sprayed it on my entire body immediately. (Duh.) It smelled like I’d just dipped myself in rubbing alcohol. The smell was totally different and I almost cried. Thankfully Birch Box is a wonderful company and refunded my purchase just because I didn’t like it?!?! Cool huh! I’m not sure what to do with it now… but I’ve scrapbooked the pretty tag from the box.
- Gold letterpress tag that I cut from the Day Designer insert from my planner last year
- Creature Type’s business card
- Old English enamel pin backing + another Golden Gems pin
This was so fun, I highly recommend digging into your sentimental stash of goodies, grab a glue pen, & get going! <3
