Word Find Card

August 14, 2018

As a kid (and as an adult) I have always loved doing word finds. As I was looking through my Ink Road Stamp stash, the light bulb went off in my head. The Ink Road Stamps: Block Party Alpha would be perfect for a word find card.

Card SuppliesI started by measuring the height and width of the letter “K” from the stamp set. This would help me set up the grid for my background. Using a T-ruler and the measurements, I added light pencil lines on my card to create the grid (I will erase these later). My boxes were 0.75″ x 0.75″.

After I got my grid set up, using my MISTI, I stamped out “Thank You” in the boxes towards the bottom of the card.

Row by row I chose random letters to stamp into boxes using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Hickory Smoke. Note: I will eventually cut the excess off the right side and bottom of the card.

On another piece of paper, I stamped “Thank You” in a rainbow of colors using the Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet). I then fussy cut the letters using a pair of scissors.

Supplies And STampsI popped these letters up on the card using foam tape on top of the already stamped “Thank You”.

Next, I trimmed the card piece down where the excess amount was from the card grid. I mounted the Word Find piece onto a black card base using foam adhesive. And that is it! Super easy card and perfect for a teacher, friend, or co-worker.
