Hello! Samantha here, sharing a fun bright idea that I came up with while browsing Pinterest! (Who here LOVES Pinterest?) With my not so secret obsession with anything Unicorn stamp or die related I wanted to find another way or technique to showcase Ink Road Stamps Majestic AF. I’ve used it a few times now – it’s my second favourite most used stamp set. If you do search for Unicorn in Pinterest you basically get Unicorns and Rainbows! Since Ink Road Stamps doesn’t have a rainbow stamp I decided to make my own using the Between the Lines stamp and a simple (yet always satisfying) masking technique.
Here is the card:
The striped stamp from Between The Lines was perfect. It has six lines so I chose my six rainbow ink colours and with the help of my MISTI masked off each line before applying the next ink colour. I had to do this twice as I wanted to create a longer rainbow (longer then what the stamp was). If you look at the close up photo you can just see where the lines overlap. Otherwise it’s hardly noticeable. I then added a black strip to the card and heat embossed sentiment. I machine stitched a border and then added my coloured in Unicorn (which I coloured in with some Crayola brand markers I “borrowed”from my kids craft box!) Lastly I embellished the card with sequins and a twine bow.
Here is another example of the card above. This card involved a lot more masking but I wanted to share how sometimes thinking outside the box allows you to create with stamp sets that otherwise wouldn’t necessarily be used that way. I really wanted to create a rainbow and I found the perfect stamp for it!
Are their stamp sets in your stash that could be used in different ways? How do you get the most out of your stamps? Hoping you enjoyed my card for today. Happy Crafting!
