Home Stamp SetsBLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED You’re Pear-fect!!

Hello, hello!! It’s Laurie here to share a card using the This Stamp is Bananas Stamp Set.  I tried a different inking technique today and loved the way it turned out!!

I’ve recently become addicted to “wreathing all the things” and the pear image from the stamp set is the pear-fect (sorry, not sorry) size for this!  To make the wreath, I did use a template. Because this is a solid stamp, it can be tricky to get colour variation or dimension. So, instead of using an ink pad directly to the stamp I used sponge daubers to apply the ink.  I used Distress Oxide Inks which makes this super easy due to the pigment property. I’m sure it would work well with dye inks but it may take a bit more to blend.

I started by dabbing Crushed Olive to about 2/3 of the image then went over that with Fossilized Amber then touched the top with Gathered Twigs. I love the way the Oxide Inks stamp!!  To fill out the “wreath” a bit more, I took the leaf sprig, the heart and the circles image which all come from the Bloom Where You Are Planted Set.  These little images fit perfectly. I used the Gathered Twigs for the leaves, Worn Lipstick for the hearts and Fossilized Amber for the circles.

I used a stitched square die to cut the panel down and also decided to cut a circle out of the centre to create a window for my sentiment.  I gold heat embossed the cuteness directly onto the kraft card base.  I adhered the stamped panel with foam adhesive.  I should mention that the finished size of this card is 4.25 X 4.25 inches.

I think I’m going to have to try this inking technique with every one of the images from this set!!

Thank you for stopping by!  I’ll be back soon!!

Laurie
